Job description
Position Summary:
To provide excellent customer service and clinical services in accordance with Atlantic Health Pride Values. To operationally lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality of care via imaging modalities through the continuum of care in the Department of Radiology.
Responsibilities include:
- Validate NJ license; BLS required, ACLS required, PALs preferred.
- Manages API daily and on-call scheduling to ensure appropriate Imaging and Nursing coverage of IR/EV hybrid suites.
- Perform bi-weekly API payroll for nursing and imaging professionals.
- Facilitates and maintains all employee technical and nursing files to include performance appraisals, license validation and certifications.
- Directly collaborate with OR leadership to facilitate multidisciplinary patient care to improve patient outcomes.
- Performs interviews of all procedural imaging and nursing candidates.
- Maintains fiscal responsibility of Interventional radiology section.
- Participate in hospital wide councils and promote Magnet Shared Governance practices to contribute to AHS organizational goals.
- Assist manager with Joint commission readiness and/or all regulatory agencies with accreditation.
- Plan, implement, and educate all processes and maintain best practices according to AHS policies and procedures.
- Navigate and triage patients electronic medical record to ensure safe surgery practices according to the AHS policies and procedures.
- Competent in the administration of moderate sedation and maintain 1:1 monitoring during administration of moderate sedation i.e., airway management.
- Maintain infection prevention measures and provides education to direct reports.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and appropriate escalation of care based on patient clinical situation and provides service recovery to all customers.
- Strong communication skills with multidisciplinary team i.e., surgeon, imaging professionals.
- Promote a high reliability culture and practice NJ STRONG initiatives.
- Understands, supports, promotes, and adheres to the Customer Service of extraordinary care and follows AHS policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate protection and safety for patients and team members as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines pertaining to radiation safety.
- Provides nursing care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
- Must be flexible for department work schedule.
- Completes annual educational requirements and nursing competencies.
Position Qualifications Required
Completion of an accredited Nursing program Diploma/Associate program/ BSN program
Training/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
The ability to lift 50lbs
Skills/Activities
Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written skills. Basic proficiency with computer system; Epic experience a preferred but not required.
Experience
Minimum 1-2 years of supervisor experience preferred, and/or 5 years’ experience as a procedural registered nurse and or PACU, ED and/or critical care registered nurse.
