Quality Inspector Position
Description:
Quality Assurance Inspector
A Quality Inspector performs appropriate in-process and final inspection of machined aerospace parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering and work instruction requirements.
Essential Functions:
Determine and utilize appropriate inspection methods and instruments (micrometers, height gauges, air gages, radius gages, calipers, CMM, etc.) to complete in-process and final inspection of machined aerospace parts and assemblies, including simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plate.
Initiate nonconformance records and process parts not meeting requirements.
Complete First Article Inspections to AS9102 and company/contractual requirements.
Continually strive to improve inspection effectiveness and efficiently by identifying and supporting implementation of process improvements.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Associates Degree preferred
Knowledge of blueprint reading and following planning documents, standards and specifications.
Strong mathematical skills
CMM Experience is helpful

Physical Demands and Work Environment
To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties
Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate tools and material handling controls
Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:
Excessive noise (hearing protection required)
Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)
The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is required
