$100k-$140k + Commissions/Bonuses
Job Summary: Newton's Top-Ranked Family Law Firm, is seeking to add an associate attorney to our growing and dynamic team of trial lawyers. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting clients with various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and domestic violence cases. The ideal candidate will have five years of experience in domestic relations with experience in contested & complex litigation.
The Firm is seeking an attorney with excellent written and oral communication skills as well as an established courtroom presence.
Job Responsibilities: - Legal Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough legal research on family law issues.
- Analyze statutes, regulations, and case law to provide accurate legal advice.
- Client Consultations:
- Meet with clients to understand their legal needs and concerns.
- Provide clear and empathetic explanations of legal processes and options.
- Case Management:
- Handle a caseload of family law matters independently.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
- Court Representation:
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations.
- Advocate effectively for clients' interests during legal proceedings.
- Negotiation and Settlement:
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Collaborate with opposing counsel to reach amicable resolutions when possible.
- Legal Documentation:
- Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Client Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress.
- Address client concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
- Experience in family law practice is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
