Overview
We are currently seeking a Nutrition Assistant to provide nutrition services to WIC applicants and participants which includes high risk woman, infants and children. Women, Infants and Children(WIC) is a public health program that benefits low and moderate income families by providing services to pregnant and postpartum woman with infants and young children up to the age of 5 who are medically or nutritionally at risk.
This position is responsible for eligibility determination, scheduling, processing and providing WIC services to participants, providing basic nutrition education to low-risk participants, and other office/clerical duties. Fluency in Chinese required .

Responsibilities
- Greet and triage participants.
- Answer and direct phone calls.
- Screen applicants for eligibility.
- Manage appointment scheduling, rescheduling and reminder phone calls/texts.
- Verification of participant information and data entry.
- Referrals to Mass Health, SNAP, TAFDC and other health and human services.
- Assist with daily and weekly reports and quality assurance activities.
- Provide nutrition care for low-risk participants. Training will be provided.
- Maintain WIC confidentiality policies.
Perform other duties deemed necessary
Qualifications
- Fluency in Chinese.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year office experience with good computer skills.
- One year experience in a health care field, such as a counselor, educator, clinical assistant, outreach worker or home health aide.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Well-organized, systematic, team-work approach to work.
- Interest in nutrition or health care.
- Sensitivity to the needs of participant population.
