Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage access, participation, and support for students with disabilities; and to ensure that students exhibiting concerning, distressing, or disturbing behaviors are connected to the campus and community resources. This is accomplished by developing and administering procedures to ensure compliance with ADA federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to students with disabilities; guaranteeing complaints of students with disabilities are handled promptly and equitably, and consulting with administrators and faculty regarding information pertaining to academic accommodations and intervention strategies; ensuring compliance with legal responsibilities and instructional, programmatic, physical and curriculum modifications; reviewing reports of concerning student behavior, student code of conduct violations, and recommending intervention or sanctions. Creating and managing program budgets. Supervising and evaluating program staff. Other duties include supervision of the Coordinator of Student Conduct, conducting student code administrator conferences only when necessary and serving as co-chair of the Care Team along with the Associate Vice President for Student Development. This position will also manage the partnerships with external social services agencies including on-site counseling services to ensure assistance for students are met as outlined in the Memoranda of Agreements.

This is an exempt, administrator position. HCC administrators receive an annual contract aligning with our 12-month fiscal year, July 1 – June 30. The first contract issued is prorated based on hire date, covering the remainder of the current fiscal year. It is necessary for an administrator to execute a new contract for each fiscal year that employment is offered.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Minimum of a Masters degree
