Job Description
Corporate Development Intern Intelsat's Corporate Development team is responsible for evaluating and executing the Company's inorganic growth opportunities. This internship opportunity would allow a firsthand look at the day-to-day analysis, strategic thinking, and execution of these external opportunities. We are seeking a driven, innovative student or recent graduate who enjoys strategic thinking to provide analytical insights and collaborate with senior management in support of the company's business and corporate development initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the minimum requirements outlined below) - Interested in beginning a career in finance and learning about mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and divestitures, and other strategic capital projects.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word through university classes or prior work experience.
- Interest in working and collaborating with senior management and various workstreams throughout the Company.
- Pursuing a degree or concentration in business management, finance, accounting, economics, statistics or related field.
- Familiarity with finance and valuation concepts, including ability to analyze company financial statements and perform present value calculations.
Job Responsibilities - Assist with execution of acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, partnerships, and other initiatives.
- Learn the fundamentals of creating financial models for the purposes of company valuations, data analysis, research and analytical support of investment opportunities.
- Perform market research to understand risks, opportunities, and trends that could impact investment decision making.
Minimum Requirements: - Eligible candidates must be one of the following:
- Part-time or full-time students who have completed 24+ credit hours (rising sophomores/juniors/seniors) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
- Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
- May 2024 graduate
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace
- Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite
- 3.0 GPA or above preferred
Summer Intern Program Description: - Paid, 12 week internship, May - August (Dates TBD)
- Schedule - 40 hours/week, Monday- Friday, 9 - 5 or regular core hours
- Hybrid environment (minimum 2 days in office location)
