Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full time Academic Hospitalist - Riverside Regional Medical Center- Newport News, Virginia

In this position you will serve as a foundational element of Graduate Medical Education (GME) on the teaching service and provide care to hospitalized patients on inpatient units while supervising the training and education of house staff and medical students.
Serve as a role model for future generations of physicians by demonstrating compassion, commitment to excellence in teaching and patient care, professionalism, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
Demonstrate a strong interest in educating residents to become practice-ready, while providing appropriate levels of supervision to promote patient safety when responding to the needs of patients, residents, community, and the institution.
Participate in recruitment, interviewing and selection of potential residency candidates for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Advance residents' knowledge and practice with a scholarly approach to evidence-based patient
care through case studies and quality improvement.

Create an effective learning environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME Competency domains by fulfilling supervisory and teaching responsibilities through timely completion of resident evaluations and real-time feedback.
Work and teach in an interdisciplinary, interprofessional team-based model that will include Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Transitional Year residents, medical students, and possibly APPs.
Pursue faculty development designed to enhance skills at least annually.


Education:

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Required:
• Meet comprehensive and professional standards
• Have a current, valid state of Virginia medical license or be eligible for one
• Have a valid DEA controlled substance registration

Skills:
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Collaborative approach with other physicians and providers
