Job Title : Outreach, Education and Prevention Director | FLSA Status: Exempt |
Department: Client Services | Reports to: Deputy Director |
Effective Date: 12/19/2023 | Pay Rate: $70,000-$75,000 per year $33.65-$36.06 per hour |
Position Overview: The Outreach, Education, and Prevention Director oversees the daily operations of the Outreach, Education, and Prevention Department. Staff supervision, internal and external education regarding domestic and sexual violence along with leading community events and collaborations.
HOURS: 40 hours weekly minimum or as necessary to achieve program objectives, responsibilities, and tasks.
Work Schedule to include Mon – Fri 8:30 am–5:30 pm Fri 8 am–3 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Demonstrate expertise in the dynamics of Family and Sexual Violence.
- Participates in agency visioning, strategic planning, and implementation of programs.
- Build relationships in the community that will result in opportunities for outreach, education, and prevention activities to businesses, health care, churches, civic groups, chambers, and schools among diverse audiences.
- Oversee placement of agency materials (Posters/brochures, etc.) throughout the community served.
- Ensure, r etain, and increase outreach, prevention, and education activities in the community.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate internal and external training material for domestic and sexual violence.
- Annually develop and implement an awareness plan in accordance with agency needs.
- Oversee planning of outreach education and violence prevention activities and events.
- Develop agency outreach and educational materials.
- Serve as liaison with outside entities for outreach, education, and prevention efforts.
- Oversee coordination efforts to engage the community on violence prevention issues.
- Execute the oversight of programs and services within the annual budget, grant reporting, and adjust as needed.
- Represent the agency in public presentations , professional training, awareness activities, and member/group coalitions.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Director-level position, with a strong ability to demonstrate high-level thinking and planning.
Education and Other Requirements: - 4-year degree with 4 years related administrative experience
- Minimum of 1-year experience managing community outreach or direct services program.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in facilitating and presenting.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
- Must have a clean driving record/automobile insurance coverage/be insurable/ have at least three years of verifiable driving experience.
- Provide proof of and maintain personal automobile insurance coverage.
- Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
Job-Specific Competencies: - Computer knowledge of programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to assist with in-the-moment issues or crises.
- Organizational capability and leadership qualities.
- Sensitivity regarding the issues of family violence and sexual assault.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing workloads.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Sensitivity and awareness of domestic and sexual violence and how to remain calm in crisis situations.
