Introduction

The National Security & Space Sector of SAIC is seeking a Cloud Architect to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.
Job Description
- As technical expert with complete latitude in day-to-day decision-making, provide cloud engineering expertise to the systems engineering efforts to investigate, analyze, plan, design, build, test, and deploy technology solutions to enhance and optimize a transformation infrastructure program within the DoD, with a focus on the computer system perspective, as part of the overall strategic objective of the customer’s modernization and initiatives to provide an improved flexible enterprise IT environment to support the customer mission.
- Support planning, design and development of FedRAMP authorized cloud-based capabilities for customer directed cloud related initiatives.
- Coordinates with and provides expertise to third-party vendors and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for input into reengineered designs. Offers recommendations and evaluations for cloud strategies and emerging technology impacts, supporting feasibility studies and addressing IT performance gaps and technology overlaps.
- Supports analysis of system needs from perspectives of current and future performance expectations and computing power requirements, integration limitations, and organizational goals.
- Designs modules of computer systems to permit extensions in future stages. Works closely with architects to plan for unique configurations of hardware, software, web integration, firewalls, internet connection, servers, and security specifically needed for cloud computing.
- Creates functional design specifications and contributes to development of project plans. Deploys, tests and debugs cloud initiatives IAW community best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develops integrated system test requirements, documentation, and strategies. Directs system-level testing.
- Designs and implements backup procedures and performs troubleshooting.
- Monitors the consumption of cloud resources, fulfillment turnaround, application performance, and systems security posture.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
It is required that the Cloud Architect have the following qualifications:
BA/BS degree with 5 + years of related experience as a Cloud Architect in AWS and/or Azure
Secret Clearance
Must meet Information Assurance requirements in accordance with DoD 8140 (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
Able to build cloud scripts using Terraform
- Experience with ICAM, Ansible, and Zero Trust
Able to build Virtual networks including VLAS
Able to build a scalable, both horizontally and vertically, cloud arc IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions
Has a minimum of AWS Certified Practitioner or a Cloud Architect (or either equivalent in Azure)
This is an architecture and engineering role which requires a high level of experience being able to design then implement solutions based on requirements provided by the client.
Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
