Job description
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant - in the Office of Student Activities for the 2024-25 term, with a potential renewal for 2025-26.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Office of Student Activities (OSA)
Attend weekly Student Government Association (SGA) meetings to provide guidance and support
Assist the Director with tracking of the SGA budget and expenditures, reviewing contracts for performers and events, and purchasing supplies for events
Assist with the OSA and SGA marketing and social media presence
Assist with general office support
Assist in the planning and execution of all Homecoming contracts and events including marketing and recruiting
Attend Homecoming planning meetings throughout the year alongside the Director
Assist with event management and administration of engagement activities
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's mission
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, PowerPoint, Word, Internet, Search engines, and social media)
Evening and occasional weekend availability
Utilize excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time
All graduate tuition and fees are waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition and fees, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
