Job description
Job Summary:
As a Gastroenterologist Physician, you will have the opportunity to practice on one hospital campus, providing a comprehensive blend of outpatient office, endoscopy, and inpatient coverage services. With access to a large, established referral base within the medical group, Accountable Care Organization (ACO), and community partners, you can expect a robust patient volume from the outset. You will contribute to a consultative hospital service, offering quality care in a patient-centered, team-based environment. Supported by dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and state-of-the-art facilities, including an onsite lab and X-ray. While advanced endoscopy training is preferred, GI fellows are encouraged to apply, and the position is eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. Please note that this opportunity is not open to J-1 or H-1B visa applicants.
Requirements:
Medical Degree and Board Certification: Possession of a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution and board certification in gastroenterology.
Licensure and Credentialing: Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of [State Name], or eligibility for licensure. Credentialing privileges at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital.
Clinical Experience: Demonstrated clinical experience in gastroenterology, with proficiency in outpatient office, endoscopy, and inpatient care settings.
Patient-Centered Care: Commitment to providing quality care in a patient-centered manner, collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system or willingness to undergo training.
Call Coverage: Willingness to participate in call coverage on a rotational basis, with a call ratio of 1/4.
Advanced Endoscopy Training: Preferred but not required. Candidates with advanced endoscopy training are encouraged to apply.
Visa Requirements: Not open to J-1 or H-1B visa applicants.
Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of advances in the field of gastroenterology.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate patients and engage in shared decision-making.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to evolving healthcare delivery models and practice guidelines.
