Job description
Buchanan Transportation is a family-owned business and is looking for someone to assist the main Dispatcher.
The Assistant Dispatcher is responsible to assist the main dispatcher in performing and ensuring the management of efficient, timely service delivery to all clients. The position also includes customer service, driver management, and performance reporting. The assistant dispatcher will work and communicate closely with drivers to ensure clients receive timely deliveries and excellent customer service.
- Works with customers, account management, and operations to manage delivery service.
- Communicate with drivers to ensure timely delivery to clients.
- Communicate with customers to verify accurate staging and delivery of bulk material.
- Responsible for sorting and preparing all delivery paperwork.
- Ability to effectively manage & schedule drivers
- Works with and assists drivers and customer to problem solve and provide excellent customer service.
- Manages incidents/accidents that may occur and reports appropriately to owner.
- Responsible for communicating cancelled or rescheduled deliveries to end customer and client
- Collect & verify driver paperwork, invoice loads, & prepare for mailing invoices
Requirements
CDL knowledge preferred
1 year experience in transportation industry preferred
