Job description
Position Description:
- The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining a symbiotic relationship with the projects Ship Manager.
- Collaborating closely both individuals will work to ensure the projects success by adhering to safety quality schedule and cost standards.
- The Program Manager will engage with multiple departments driving program efforts across the entire repair team supporting work execution problemsolving planning and process improvement.
- Reporting directly to the Director of Programs the Performance of the Program Manager will be measured against the overall availability of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully execute programs during preproduction production and avail closeout phases.
- Hold all departments accountable for meeting schedule and cost goals throughout each project.
- Maintain and develop the current Lifecycle Management System utilizing the Earned Value Management System and daily project observation.
- Collaborate with logistics procurement and materials teams to communicate project demands for materials in alignment with the schedule.
- Review quality key performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement across all trades.
- Manage the Change Process ensuring quick and accurate processing of changes through contracts/subcontracts teams and successful execution within production.
- Monitor TIP/OQE completion to support project quality requirements and schedule goals.
- Monitor cost and schedule performance evaluating weekly and developing mitigation plans as required.
- Deconflict subcontractor issues in alignment with overall schedule goals.
- Work with Ship Managers to develop area management plans before production begins.
- Proactively anticipate schedule and budget deviations providing solutions for resolution.
- Coordinate communication and feedback with customers to resolve technical issues.
Skills Required:
- Positive attitude teamoriented approach to problemsolving.
- Fluent in scheduling tools critical path analysis schedule risk assessments and schedule mitigation strategies.
- Proficient in risk opportunity and cost management.
Experience Required:
- Eight (8) years of relevant program management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong comprehension organizational reasoning & decisionmaking skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Proficient in mathematics for computing analyzing and interpreting numerical and/or statistical data.
Experience Preferred:
- Government/Commercial New Construction Shipbuilding or Ship Repair experience.
Education Required:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering Project Management Business Development Finance or a similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education Preferred:
- PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
