DESCRIPTION:

Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to provide medical nutritional therapy & optimal health care. Screens and assigns levels of nutritional risk based on hospital established criteria. Develops and implements nutrition care plans for all assigned patients according to a patient s disease state and lifecycle. Provides nutrition education to patient and family members. Responsible for documentation of patient s progress in the electronic medical record EPIC, according to department policies. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutritional therapy intervention, according to procedural guidelines for assessment/re-assessment. Participates in performance evaluation and improvement activities. Collaborates with dietetic technicians; Aids in the maintenance of accurate cardfile records in Health Touch. Mentors dietetic interns/students, as assigned by Clinical Nutrition Manager. Maintains professional development and competency. Maintain effective verbal and written communications within the department. Participates in other department responsibilities with the rest of the Clinical Nutrition team, as assigned by Clinical Nutrition Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

BS, or advanced degree with major studies in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics

Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration CDR or eligible to sit for Registered Dietitian Examination

Some holidays and weekends required, typically every 4th-7th weekend

Flexible with floor assignments, after proper orientation on patient units

Reports to Clinical Nutrition Manager

$70,720 minimum to $76,960 maximum Annual Salary
