Job description
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE) of the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is inviting applications from highly motivated applicants with an MS degree in either Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering to fulfill a research position at the Rocket Propulsion Laboratory (RPL). The position involves the design, fabrication, and testing of aerospace propulsion systems.
An advanced degree in Engineering or a closely related field is required.
Applicants with foreign education will be required to select from a list of private organizations that are members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), which provide foreign education evaluations acceptable to NPS.
The applicant should have experience utilizing solid modeling tools to design and generate drawings for the fabrication of selected hardware and be familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic, and power systems.
The candidate must also be able to record, assimilate and interpret data, write technical reports, publications and be willing and able to present results in technical forums.
The candidate will be expected to collaborate with other NPS faculty members and graduate students on sponsored research projects, including proposal preparation and sponsor interaction.
Demonstrated experience conducting experimental research programs is mandatory.
To be considered for the position candidates should have US citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
