Urgent Hiring - Permanent Position - Direct Hire - Cytotechnologist - Laboratory - Elmhurst, IL - $32.02/hr - $48.07/hr

Located at 155 E. Brush Hill Road in Elmhurst (near the corner of York Street and Roosevelt Road) it features 259 private inpatient suites in an aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-navigate environment. Job Description:

• Evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cases, evaluation, and interpretation of abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspiration cases.
• Cytotechnologists are responsible for identifying diagnostic material and referring cases to the pathologists appropriately.
• Serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) team providing on site adequacy evaluation of FNA procedures.
• Provide technical advice and perform cytopreparation and processing as needed.
• Must maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities.
• Maintain Quality Control records where indicated.
• Assist in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities, continuous improvement activities and/or other special projects.

Preferred Qualifications: Recent Hospital-based experience
License Required: Illinois does not require a cytology license. Just CT(ASCP) certificate is needed.
Certificates Required: Bachelor's degree in either Cytotechnology, Biology, or Life Sciences & successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology program. Candidate must be CT (ASCP) certified.
