Position Summary:

This position provides learning support to the students and faculty of the Hospitality, Culinary & Tourism Institute. The HCTI Lab Assistant works with instructors during lab and restaurant operations to ensure students follow sanitation and food safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, ensures food and non-food waste is properly disposed of in appropreiate receptacles. Provides operational support to maintain the cleanliness, organization, inventory and sanitation procedures of the prep and restaurant kitchens, dining room and all storage areas Support services may be technical or logistical in nature. This position must work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


· Assist w maintaining/organizing inventory of food and non-food products

· Maintain cleanliness of walk-ins, reach-ins, dry storage, supply room, beverage station, and all other areas of the HCTI facility

· During restaurant operations provides support in the back of house or front of house as needed.

· Back of house duties may include: laundry management, prepping, cooking, ware washing and storage, working any stations on the cold or hot line

· Front of houe duties may include: serving, bussing, hosting, point of sale support, beverage station, food runner.

· Assists with set up of lab and restaurant

· Assists with breakdown and cleaning of lab and restaurant

· Assist with special events in 200 Monroe Restaurant in any of the above capacities.

Salary: $16.58 - $18.24 hourly
