Job Description:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for library
patrons, delivering exceptional customer service at multiple library public service desks.
- Proficiently manage the circulation of
library materials, ensuring the seamless delivery of library services to users.
- Offer information and assistance to users in
locating library materials, navigating the Library website, and utilizing the catalog.
- Address patron account inquiries and respond
to various queries effectively.
- Perform complex transactions at the library's public service desks, such as checking out library
materials and processing fine payments using specialized computer software.
- Contribute to shelving, shifting, and shelf-reading of
library materials.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of library and departmental policies and procedures.
- Resolve
customer queries and problems with respect, civility, professional courtesy, and composure.
- Perform related tasks, maintain
statistics, and successfully complete assigned projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school
diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a library setting; or any comparable combination of education and
practical experience may be considered.
