Your work will directly impact current and future care scenarios for global populations of patients through extending and modernizing our programmable platform.
As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to lead software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, platforms, control plans and databases. You will drive feature and technology roadmaps, build enhancements within an existing software architecture, and envision future improvements to the architecture. The role will direct and ensure the organization has the operational policies to achieve our goals and mission through interactions with executive management. You will influence the strategies and processes that have wide impact across roles, organizations and products. Your knowledge and drive of the product development process will increase the velocity of innovation on both existing and new architectures.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
The senior software development director position will lead engineering teams responsible for building and modernizing population health applications and solutions for health care organizations.
You will design, build, and craft organization that design, implement, and operate sophisticated clinical systems as a capable and cohesive, hard-working organization.
Be a primary driver in the development of short, medium and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives in the application and user facing products.
Lead an “always on” culture on the team. Your products and services will operate systems on a global scale with high resiliency and operational metrics.
Responsible for leading design and implementation details around next generation forward chaining rules-based system to drive non-ML authority systems and rules building user experiences.
Work closely with product managers, architects, and developers to build application engineering infrastructure enabling wide scale clinical application development on the OHDI platform.
Drive wide-scale engineering technical programs that cross platforms, customers, and technologies.
Drive development processes, automated testing strategies, development tools and continued developer efficiency processes.
Qualifications
10+ years leading sophisticated technical engineering teams with most experience in cloud systems and environments.
10+ years of substantial work experience in user interface systems, analytics, and high-bandwidth application innovation.
You are experienced at building highly available services, APIs, and applications, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.
Demonstrate leadership and people management skills, strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and a detailed understanding of product development techniques.
Production experience with Cloud and ML technologies.
You have experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code in production and solve issues when they arise.
Data science and machine learning knowledge would be advantageous, but not required.
Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other collaborators.
You feel at home crafting technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations).
BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to software engineering.

US: Hiring Range: from $142,900 to $338,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
