We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Proposal Team Manager to support our National Sales & Marketing office.

This is a virtual position. A virtual position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. As a virtual employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client working, team meetings or training.

YOUR TEAM.

The Proposal Team Manager will be responsible for leading our proposal team and resources across the Firm. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in end-to-end proposal management, especially in the Public Sector and finally will be an innovative and out of the box thinker. We need a leader who can help us raise the capabilities of our team to the next level, and ensure we maintain work/life balance across all team members. Identification and usage of technology, AI, and building out our offshore and outsourced team processes will be key to success in this position. You will be reporting to the Sales Enablement Director.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Manage our team of proposal writers, proposal operations specialists and coordinators both on and offshore, including coaching, conducting annual and mid-year performance reviews, quarterly goal setting and regular team and individual check-ins.
• Further develop our offshore resource model in India and the Philippines to increase our service capabilities.
• Build our next gen team through strategic hires of coordinator level resources.
• Develop and share best practices with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency.
• Improve documentation of proposal competencies and promotional guidelines.
• Identify and execute cross training initiatives so that all our proposal team members can service any type of proposal in the government, or commercial sectors.
• Provide leadership and strategic guidance in all Major/Strategic Pursuits.
• Meet with key leaders across the firm to assess our proposal outputs, and ensure we are exceeding expectations in all areas of our work.
• Apply a solid understanding of CohnReznick’ s services, key differentiators, growth goals and go to market strategies to successful support the growth of the Firm.
• Provide guidance and assistance to peers to support common proposal/business development processes and approaches.
• Lead and analyze RFI, RFQ, RFPs related to major strategic pursuits and other bid documents for requirements.
• Identify market and business drivers and understand each customer/stakeholder’s evaluation criteria; visit customers/stakeholders, give technical presentations, develop scopes of supply, deliver customer proposals, and negotiate/close orders.
• Maintain and manage the proposal MS Teams and SharePoint collaboration sites.
• Provide insight, leadership, and work guidance to authors on all proposal content.
• Manage the successful development of compliant, competitive, cogent, and compelling proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, corporate partners, consultants, and supporting vendors.
• Conduct and document proposal lessons learned and implement actions to improve process efficiency.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with all cross-functional internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, Administration, Document Processing, Risk, Legal, Information Technology, People and Culture, Finance and Learning and development to build and execute on programs that will enhance the proposal service offering and allow for stronger teaming throughout the process.
• Provide regular updates to management with regards to overall team performance using data.
• Identify opportunities and solutions for continuous improvement and areas where technology and AI can build efficiencies into our process.
• Work with proposal operations to develop and execute a content management plan using our content management tools, RFPIO and Brandworks.
• Reinforce best practices for working with the proposal team across the Firm to provide a consistent internal client experience.
• Work with our learning and development team on an annual firmwide proposal curriculum.
• Develop and manage a continuous improvement roadmap for all areas of the proposal team.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong diplomatic/negotiation skills and proven ability to perform in high-visibility, high-growth environments.
• Knowledge of the professional services industry, specifically accounting and advisory.
• Strong background in understanding and strategically responding to Federal, state, and local RFIs, RFQs and RFPs.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
• Business acumen and forward thinking.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and CRM.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably Engineering or Business
• Minimum of seven years of proven success in proposal management
• Shipley trained and/or APMP certified.
• Experience crafting, presenting, and implementing successful winning proposals of $10M+ in expected fees.
• Previous experience of leading a team of five or more either direct reports or as a project manager.
