The Command Priorities Department, part of the Intelligence Center, helps the Combatant Command Intelligence Directorates (J2) mitigate critical gaps and shortfalls, identify relevant emerging technologies, and create advanced solutions to address mission challenges.
Job Description: In this role, you will lead a 3-4 STE effort comprised of intelligence analysts and engineers working to resolve the most difficult mission challenges faced by the USSOUTHCOM J2's military and civilian staff.As Project Leader, you will serve as the MITRE Intelligence Center's on-site representative and as a trusted advisor to J2 leadership, and be required to:
- Routinely engage with the MITRE Leadership team, working closely with the J2 team to ensure MITRE remains focused on both the long term and immediate operational intelligence challenges faced by the Command
- Oversee delivery of high quality, impactful MITRE work on a 3-4 STE project addressing a diverse set of tasks
- Apply expert understanding of the intelligence mission to drive sponsor strategy as they seek to modernize intelligence support to the Combatant Commander
- Meet all project management expectations to include addressing the project oversight needs of your immediate command sponsor, while ensuring a responsive and accurate exchange of information with your MITRE leadership. This is essential to delivering high quality project results on time and within budget
- Have the opportunity to support other USSOUTHCOM related projects
Basic Qualifications: - Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain/maintain Polygraph
- Due to the lengthy clearance process, candidates without an existing TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain CI or FS polygraph cannot be considered for this opening.
- Requires minimum of 10 years of experience with a bachelor's degree; 8 years of experience with a master's degree; 5 years of experience with a Ph.D.; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- A strong understanding of the intelligence process in support of a Combatant Commander, and the role played by the Intelligence community in meeting those needs
- Possess a demonstrated ability to advance intelligence analysis and mission planning capabilities
- This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in a technical field to include computer science, engineering, data science, or related area of science and technology
- A clear understanding of the USSOUTHCOM mission, its Area of Responsibility, and related intelligence needs
- Planning, Programming, and Budgeting experience related to project management
- Leadership/management experience of a task driven team
- Experience supporting the requirements of a CCMD Joint Intelligence Operations Center
