Job description

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Senior Planner for our aerospace fastener plant in City of Industry, CA . The Assistant Controller supports the Plant Controller in the direct supervision of the day-to-day general accounting functions and coordination month end closing process, and daily/weekly monthly financial reporting. Assist in the development of financial plans and forecasts, and the analysis of operational results. Prime day-to-day responsibility will be cost accounting; monitor and report inventories, standard cost revisions and the operating budget will be key responsibilities.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Review all new order adds.
• Release wlo’s according to back log.
• Review all past dues.
• Make follow-ups for customers demand.
• Attend production meetings (daily).
• Review capacity on machines.
• Review exception messages.
• Resolve material problems.
• Review all plans for the monthly goals.
• Keep due dates updated on system.
• Resolve planning problems directly with shop supervisor.
• Quote delivery dates.
• Be on time to meet demands of job.
• Comply with all safety policies.
• Give monthly reports to manager and the Group.
• Keep work area clean, safe and in orderly fashion on daily basis.
• Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and practices. Report all unsafe activities to Supervisor, and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team effort to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide leadership to others through example and the sharing of knowledge/skill.
• A.P.I.C.S. will be required.
• Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Knowledge of the QAD system, the COP system, GCS system and the Document Imagine system required.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Planning role
• Minimum of 1 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or Supply Chain preferred
• APICS certification highly desired
• Previous experience in Aerospace manufacturing setting preferred

Benefits/Salary:

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to 115,000
