Scope of work
- Epidemiologist required to work on projects related to the Title V Block Grant and Maternal and Child Health data modernization.
CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The selected Contractor must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- At least 5 years public health experience (epidemiology, biostatistics, health care, or demography)
- At least 5 years of data analysis experience using Microsoft SQL, R, SPSS, Stata, or SAS
- At least 5 years of experience working as part of a team.
- Doctorate in epidemiology
- Knowledge of research methods for compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained through vital statistic records and other Department Systems, including securely storing and transmitting information.
- Perform research, data analysis, and evaluation using various statistical and data managing software packages, such as SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, SQL, and MS Access to collect and analyze data pertaining to maternal and child health populations.
- Provide research and statistical analysis support, training, and technical assistance, including interpreting data and communicating same to internal and external partners.
- Conduct epidemiologic research to identify determinants and risk factors as needed.
- Meet weekly with Children's Medical Services and other Department staff to discuss current and future projects, including but not limited to the Title V Block Grant.
- Develop a project plan that includes action steps and timelines to co-lead the Title V Block Grant Needs Assessment process for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs.
- Co-lead the Title V Block Grant Needs Assessment process for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs.
- Coordinate and implement focus groups, as assigned.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations, as assigned.
- Analyze and summarize data, as assigned.
- Develop or assist in GIS maps or other visuals, as assigned.
- Work with the Children's Medical Services staff or other Department Staff to review and update children and youth with special health needs indicators or profiles as well as add new ones as necessary.
- Initiate and carry out statistical analysis, including formative and summative evaluations, in addition to providing an ongoing assessment of data capacity and quality related to linkages, access and use of key and relevant data sets as needed.
- Work with the Children's Medical Services and Department staff to develop a Title V Block Grant for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Performance Measure Dashboard.
- Assist with data request using requested datasets, as needed.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
