Our Business Development Team has is excited to offer an opportunity to join their team as a Business Development Executive.
Schedule & Location:
This is an exempt, office-based position is based out of Cleveland, OH.
- Calls & Call Plans, Strategy Development and Client Service Plans to bring in quality new business partners and develop a continuous prospect pipeline for Cleveland Operations.
- Ability and willingness to make calls at least one day every week to form connections with new contacts and/or new companies.
- Develop and deliver high quality new business proposals for each prospect quoted that shows deep understanding of the prospects’ business goals and how FM Global will be an authentic partner.
- Keep prospect information in SRS current, accurate and updated as new information is developed during the sales process.
- Maintain an active involvement in the local insurance community (RIMS, CPCU, CII, SFPE, AMRAE etc.) by participating in meetings, conferences and appearing at industry related functions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of competitors' products, services and current pricing strategy and provide feedback to the RSM on competitor practices.
- Achieve the allocated new business objectives, selling directly to prospective clients and in conjunction with brokers.
- Lead all client service team activity on prospects – coordinating action items, establishing timelines, understanding prospective client needs, identifying gaps and solutions.
- Appropriately transition new clients to their client service teams.
- Achieve new business objectives as established by the Regional Sales Manager.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Highly Preferred Education:
- Advanced degree in business, marketing, or engineering
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Designation (CPCU)
- The Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII)
Required Work Experience:
- 3+ years in the insurance industry
Highly Preferred Technical Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of property insurance policy forms
- Presentation and negotiation skills
- Loss Prevention Engineering concepts
- Knowledge of competitors and brokers
The hiring range for this position is $99,800-$143,400 annually. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
