Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior Mobile Software Engineer (SWE) to join our intel team. As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer you will utilize your software and mobile development background to support a mission critical development team where your experience will be leveraged to significantly improve existing development and integration processes, in turn substantially improving time to market of tooling which has a direct and meaningful impact on national security. Our team is in need of an experienced Software Engineer with a background in engaging Android and iOS mobile device APIs. You will be deeply involved in the development, verification, and integration of complex mobile tools, so experience with automating verification of mobile device functions and applications is ideal.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
- Twelve (12) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Candidates are required to have the following skills:
- Responsibilities:
- Develop automated pipelines for tool integration to replace existing manual procedures.
- Leverage a device farm and various automated techniques to support the development, testing, and integration of capabilities.
- Develop tool capabilities and a CI/CD pipeline by leveraging common platforms (e.g., GitLab).
- Sit directly with users and stakeholders to derive requirements that guide the automation processes of mission-critical systems.
- Skills Requirements:
- At least 1- 2 years of experience with Android and iOS mobile device APIs, development, testing, and automation (e.g., device farms).
- Experience with Python, or a similar scripting language (e.g., Ruby, Perl), to automate processes and conduct testing.
- Experience developing and integrating capabilities and automating integration.
Candidates are desired to have the following skills:
- In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP), and analysis of network traffic (e.g., Wireshark).
- Experience with Java and common development frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Experience with capabilities development in a CNO setting.
All Senior SWE must have the following skills and experiences:
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
- Experience working individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results and resolve software problem reports.
- Experience utilizing software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Experience providing specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
- Experience analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
- Experience designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add new features.
- Ability to debug existing software and correct defects.
- Experience integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
- Experience developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
- Experience providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
- Experience developing or implementing algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
- Ability to assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
- Experience writing or reviewing software and system documentation.
- Experience serving as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.
- Experience developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes; and investigating problem areas.
- Experience overseeing one or more software development teams and ensuring the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.
- Experience modifying existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve its performance.
- Ability to design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
- Experience designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
- Experience designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products.
- Experience conferring with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Experience coordinating software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.
- Experience implementing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
- Experience serving as technical lead of multiple software development teams.
- Experience selecting the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering.
- Experience recommending new technologies and processes for complex software projects.
- Experience ensuring quality control of all developed and modified software.
- Experience delegating programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitoring their performance.
