Position: PhoneCanvasser (Part-Time)
Salary: $18 - $23 an hour based on hours of experience
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 4:30PM - 7:30PM
Start date : March 18, 2024
End date: December 6, 2024

Organization Summary (AAOP) is a non-partisan organization led by and for young Asian Minnesotans in the Twin Cities. Through our grassroots organizing efforts and programming, we aim to develop young Asian community leaders to resist oppression and co-create a more just future for their families, schools, communities, and cities.
Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate is community driven, people-centered, socially conscious, and skilled in fostering relationships in individuals to influence/impact systems change. The candidate is organized, a self-starter, a strong communicator, able to effectively manage varied tasks and timelines. AAOP is seeking to hire a team of canvassers to engage with our base of young Asian voters ages 18 - 35 constituents on various issues including but not limited to Climate Justice, Reproductive Justice and Election. The canvassers will be a critical component of our community engagement work that directly impacts youth and young people. Our team of canvassers will lead our direct community engagement efforts on the phones and/or at the doors. This is a seasonal temporary position from March through December.
Position Summary The Phone Canvasser I is someone who understands the goals and metrics that have been set and is capable of meeting these goals and metrics. The Phone Canvasser I is someone that’s able to step in and support other canvassers through shared best practices and identify key challenges that need to be uplifted for the Field Organizer. As part of our organizational values of growth and constructive feedback, the Phone Canvasser I is expected to share feedback and suggestions to further our approach to canvassing and engaging with our communities on important issues.

Hourly Pay and Benefits AAOP has a tiered pay scale ranging from hourly to salary positions that are based on Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) every other year, equity and economic justice. This hourly position currently pays within the range of $18 to $23 an hour with an annual raise between 1% to 3% based on annual reviews and budget. This position is a 12 hours/week part-time, onsite, non-exempt position, including some evenings and weekends. Benefits include: annual accrual PTO hours, eligible Simple IRA Plan,
