SALARY : $15.00 per hour part time hours

LOCATION : City of Saratoga Springs NY - Department of Public Safety 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualification(s) MUST be met and clearly stated on the City of Saratoga Springs employment application form:

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma OR
• Not less than 18 years of age and one (1) year of experience working with children.

DUTIES: Responsible for directing traffic in the vicinity of schools to insure the safety of the children. This work involves exceptional responsibility for the protection of children going to and returning from school. It calls for the exercise of considerable vigilance. Work is performed independently, with only occasional supervision. The incumbent does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

• Directs traffic near school;
• Tell children when they may cross streets;
• Assists children in crossing streets;
• Keeps control of children playing near street;
• ·Instruct children in the elements of safety.
