SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Hire Minded is working with a leading national construction firm to identify a Construction Project Manager - Life Sciences. The Construction Project Manager - Life Sciences plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and overseeing multi-disciplined real estate and capital projects within the Life Sciences/Biotech/Pharmaceuticals sector. Responsible for end-to-end project management, you will collaborate seamlessly with design, preconstruction, and construction teams to ensure the flawless execution of turnkey solutions. As a key contributor to our integrated business model, you will directly manage project delivery, working alongside external engineering firms, interdisciplinary teams, estimators, and construction experts.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain a safe work environment where all team members go home safely every day.
- Develop and coordinate site-specific project execution plans.
- Review and manage document revisions for safety and quality plans.
- Manage overall project budgets, costs, schedules, procurement, and field management.
- Coordinate with Trade Partners, vendors, and consultants.
- Analyze and track critical milestones to maintain project schedules.
- Review and approve trade partner construction proposals and pricing/scopes.
- Manage Accounts Payable and review/approve final invoices and payment applications.
- Work collaboratively in a matrix roles and responsibilities environment.
- Conduct/support monthly internal project performance reviews, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
- Provide execution expertise and align team goals with project objectives through engaging communication.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, demonstrating negotiation, presentation, and persuasion skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team, dealing with ambiguity and focusing on successful project operations.
- Manage various personalities within the team and at the client level.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with appropriate documentation.
- Oversee monitoring and reporting on project progress against the execution plan.
- Champion best practices for contract and change management.
- Oversee the transfer of building operations to the client, including closeout documentation and warranties.
- Create client ready deliverables.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, process, chemical, civil/structural, or electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in increasingly challenging positions, preferably in a construction organization.
- 2+ years of minimum experience in management within the life sciences market.
- Prior experience on projects ranging from >$5M to $75M.
- Strong analytical ability and capacity to interpret data.
- Comfortable with change and ambiguity, adaptable, collaborative, and a systems thinker.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and focused on developing future leaders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
