Job Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service in all forms of contact , including transactions, responding to inquiries, requests or referring to the pharmacist for medical information
• Accept written prescriptions or refill requests from patients ; evaluate information for completeness and accuracy
• Record medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Perform sales transactions at the cash register
• Must be able to prioritize and adjust in a dynamic environment
• Verify patient information for accuracy
• Count and fill prescription medication ; type and attach correct medication labels
• Perform inventory audits and purchas e supplies
• Process patient insurance
• Deliver m edications to facilities using the company vehicle
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with team members and community partners

S kills and Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Current pharmacy te chnician license from the State of Alaska; must apply at
• An original copy of the license must be presented at the time of hiring - copies are not accepted
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Experience in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to use a computer for day-to-day tasks

• Possess basic math skills
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable automobile
• Proof of current automobile insurance
• Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance

Physical Requirements

Requires regular routine movement, including prolonged standing, walking, r eaching , twisting and bending. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed . Driving may be required for delivery and pick-up purposes. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet essential duties of this position.

Working Environment

Works indoors in a retail pharmacy setting with low-risk exposure. Occasional travel for office related items may be needed.
