Summary
The Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Center is an NIH-funded research center focused on conducting and supporting Alzheimer's disease and related dementia research. A key aim of the center's research is to work with underrepresented communities to address racial and ethnic disparities in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The center also spans beyond research by promoting state-of-the-art care and wellness for individuals and families affected by dementia and increasing dementia awareness through education and outreach across the state.
The Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Center (MADC) is seeking a full-time Neuroimaging Data Specialist to join the research team within the Neuroimaging Core. The position is located in Ann Arbor with free staff parking, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement post-training.
Reporting to the MADC Neuroimaging Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Neuroimaging Core Leaders, Manager, and research administrative staff. The role involves managing multiple projects, demonstrating familiarity with programming concepts, critical thinking, and strong communication skills. This position's characteristic duties and responsibilities may evolve over time to match changing needs and priorities.

Responsibilities *
Establish data pipelines for processing and analysis.
Manage imaging databases, ensuring data quality and adherence to timelines.
Collaborate with center staff and researchers in all aspects of the data life cycle.
Design report formats and graphical representation of data intended for audiences ranging from senior leadership to the public.
Develop and maintain supporting documentation for multiple projects.
Optimize data collection and analysis methods in collaboration with the research team and external partners.
Conduct data quality checks for MRI and PET data-related study documentation.
Other duties as directed, including data entry as required.
Required Qualifications *
Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, IT, or related field
Experience with query languages like SQL.
Eagerness to learn new tasks and skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to document work in the form of SOPs, READMEs, and code comments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Progress toward mastery of critical data science skills, including basic programming, use of query language, and knowledge of database management.
0-1 years of relevant experience working with sensitive data, database creation, and data management.
Desired Qualifications *
Experience with REDCap.
Proficiency in Dropbox and Microsoft Office 365.
Familiarity with Git and GitHub-like repositories.
Experience with processing and analysis platforms such as FreeSurfer, Slicer, and SPM.
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB, Bash) for data processing and analysis.
Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and HIPAA regulations.
