Are you a skilled Sign Language Interpreter seeking a rewarding opportunity to support a high school students education We have an urgent need for a parttime Educational Sign Language Interpreter to work with one student at a high school in Illinois. If youre ready to make a difference and provide vital support to a student in need we want to hear from you!
Job Description: As an Educational Sign Language Interpreter you will work closely with a high school student to ensure effective communication access in various educational settings. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing interpretation and transliteration services to facilitate communication between the student teachers and peers.
- Assisting the student in accessing instructional materials classroom discussions and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborating with teachers and support staff to implement accommodation and modifications to support the students academic success.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements
- Certification as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with students and school staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
