Job Title: Director of Financial Planning
Reports To: Chief Operations Officer - FTA
Direct Reports: Financial planning employees
Salary Grade: N/A
SUMMARY Supports advisors and serves clients by reviewing, analyzing, and preparing financial plans for clients. Responsibilities include data gathering, financial plan and other modelling, case design, scenario building, plan development, presentation development. Conducts research on financial planning topics and is responsible for improving financial planning process and educating other advisors. Responsible for regular client contact.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5-10 years of investment industry experience
- Must have obtained Certified Financial Planner designation
- Series 7,63, and 65 (or 66) strongly preferred
- Insurance license preferred
- Knowledge of investment terminology, principals, practices and procedures required
JOB FUNCTIONS - Organize client’s financial documentation and information as necessary
- Provide an accurate summary of clients’ personal information, current financial position, and asset allocation
- Review and summarize insurance details, estate plan details and tax return implications
- Create financial planning reports/analyses utilizing MoneyGuide Pro, Morningstar and other planning tools
- Communicate directly with the Advisor and/or client to obtain additional information and ask questions regarding the financial plan
- Identify areas of opportunity and coordinate specific recommendations with the Financial Advisor and Advanced Planning peers.
- Complete Financial Plan for delivery to client
- Record notes and pertinent details in Junxure/AdvisorEngine CRM regarding client communications, inquiries, and actions related to the planning request as necessary
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and to identify priorities
- Ability to work with and through others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software and databases
- Participate in all required compliance training, including internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position manages employees and is responsible for the coaching, development, and performance management of those employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT FinTrust office location
POSITION TYPE This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
TRAVEL This position requires up to 10-15% travel.
