Job description
Bama Exterminating, one of the highest-rated and most established pest control companies in West Alabama, is looking for an experienced, proactive and forward-thinking pest control supervisor with excellent communication, technology and leadership skills to join our team.
In this role, you’ll be in charge of leading a team of technicians and helping us operate smoothly and efficiently each day while simultaneously planning for the future. More specifically, you’ll be responsible for hiring, onboarding and training new technicians, providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to your team, monitoring your team’s performance to make sure they’re on track, addressing customer questions and concerns, supporting our retention efforts and initiatives, maintaining strong relationships with our vendors, developing connections within the Tuscaloosa business community, working with our termite supervisor to track inventory and place chemical orders, ensuring your department’s vehicles and equipment are properly serviced and maintained, implementing and upholding workplace policies and standards, communicating with administrative staff on a regular basis and constantly seeking new ways to improve our processes and procedures by reviewing reports and analyzing data. Last but not least, you’ll have the opportunity to flex your entrepreneurial muscles - and earn generous commissions - by following up with warm commercial leads and prospecting from a list of new businesses that we’ll provide to you each month.

Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing a team of technicians
- Ensuring daily operational efficiency while planning ahead (i.e. making sure calendars are full well in advance)
- Handling hiring, onboarding and training of new technicians
- Providing continuous coaching and mentoring to your team
- Doing ride-alongs/quality checks with technicians and offering feedback
- Tracking the performance of your technicians to make sure they’re on target
- Conducting company-wide meetings periodically along with regular one-on-ones with your technicians
- Going out on commercial inspections
- Addressing customer questions and concerns
- Supporting retention efforts and initiatives
- Maintaining strong relationships with vendors
- Developing connections within the Tuscaloosa business community through groups such as the Chamber of Commerce
- Collaborating with the termite supervisor for inventory tracking and chemical ordering
- Ensuing proper servicing and maintenance of department vehicles and equipment
- Implementing and upholding workplace policies and standards
- Communicating regularly with administrative staff (mainly electronically)
- Seeking and implementing improvements in processes and procedures through data analysis
- Pursuing commercial sales opportunities, including following up on warm leads and prospecting new businesses
- Monitoring inter-office messaging systems closely to provide a timely response
- Occasional route scheduling tasks
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years experience in pest control
- Two years of leadership experience (a pest control manager or supervisor background is a huge plus)
- Previous sales experience preferred
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on responsiveness to both colleagues and customers
- A basic knowledge of computers and Google Workspace
- Ability to run reports and use the data to analyze technician productivity, plan ahead and make decisions
- Strong multitasking and project skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to inspire others
- Willingness to be a team player
- Be highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate honesty and a strong work ethic
- Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
- Have excellent judgment and independent thinking skills
- Be a self starter who can anticipate needs and solve problems
- High school diploma/GED
- Have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license
About Company:
We are a small, family-owned and operated business that started in 1930. David, the owner, is the 3rd generation of Bama Exterminating. Two of his children, Joseph and Anna Beth, also work at Bama and will be 4th generation owners. We do residential and commercial pest and termite control, as well as Christmas Decor in the winter.
