Job Summary
Our client is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for our Houston facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will plan and design manufacturing processes in a facility. May improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set up production schedules. Provide support in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations.
Job Description
- Provide technical assistance to strategic suppliers and production departments to reduce lead-times and costs.
- Assist with commodity strategies that support the desired profitability, level of quality, and cycle time of various product lines that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Develop tools and processes to improve materials flow throughout the entire supply chain.
- Streamline processes and material flow to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Contribute to cost reduction efforts internally and externally by actively seeking and implementing opportunities for reduced costs.
- Generate routers, build process drawings for manufacturing & tooling, and design raw material or process drawings for the design-engineering group.
- Assist with determining supplier capabilities and sourcing of new products.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing shop as needed.
- Stay abreast of changes in technology that will improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Create leaner, more efficient, and more profitable business practices.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all Client Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Skills Required
- Candidates must have at least 3-4 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a discrete job factory
- Candidates must have some machining or fabrication experience
- Experience in welding, machining, and assembly of oilfield products preferred.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methods such as 5S, Kaizen, and Just-in-Time
- Should be able to use analytical tools and statistical methods to analyze and improve systems.
- Should possess good mechanical and math skills and should be an effective communicator.
- Ability to work with minimum guidance as in a team-based environment required
- Strong Knowledge of ERP/MRP system is preferred.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Certification such as Lean, Six-Sigma, QRM is a plus
- APICS certification is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Shift Hours: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm - 5 days a week on-site (no hybrid or remote option)
Pay Rate/Salary
- Starting at $83,000 – $105,000 annually depending on experience. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skill set and/or location.
