IRD, LLC, an affiliate to Krauth Electric Company, manufactures industrial test equipment used in the rotating apparatus industry. IRD is the expert in soft bearing balancing technologies that test for out of balance issues. IRD also has the Lexseco Core Loss Tester in it's product line. The Core Loss Testers test for the integrity of steel in electric motor cores. Currently, IRD is looking for an electronic repair technician. This person would learn how to assemble the IRD balancing instruments as well as repair them for customers, should the need occur.

Pay range for the position will be commensurate with experience between $18 and $22 per hour as a starting point.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot, calibrate and repair IRD Balancing production instrumentation. Interface with customers to provide phone technical support for production instrumentation. Utilize production drawings and control documentation to assemble and test electronic components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, printed circuit boards, wire harnesses and cables. Manage, prepare and pack for shipping IRD Balancing rental instrument inventory. Maintain work area including inventory, tools and equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform troubleshooting, testing, disassembly, repair and calibration of IRD Balancing production instrumentation.
Advise customers on IRD Balancing production instruments and, as necessary, coordinate the return of the instruments for repair.
Repair, calibrate and coordinate the shipping/use of rental instrument stock.
Prepare, document and process required paperwork related to instrument repair and warranty processing.
When instructed, assist in the assembly of new production instruments, including:
• assemble various electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies to engineering specifications
• perform routine electronic operations including wiring circuits, setting up test equipment, taking test readings using multimeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment
• solder components onto printed circuit boards
• document all work performed and test results
• perform re-certification of transducers on shaker table

EDUCATION:
Two year associate degree in electronics or equivalent work experience is required.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:
Two years electronic assembly experience is preferred.
Experience in electronics repair or computer assembly is preferred.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Soldering experience and proficiency is required.
Basic understanding of electronic components is required.
Good math and verbal communication skills is required.
Computer literacy including MS Office programs required.

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED:
Multimeters, soldering equipment, oscilloscopes, function generators
Must provide and use own standard hand tools
Standard assembly tools such as jigsaw, drill, hydraulic knockout and air ratchet.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Excellent dexterity, good hand/eye coordination, fine motor skills required.
Must be able to lift 80 pounds.
May be required to climb and/or use ladders.
Must be able to use hand tools, electric and air operated tools on a repetitive basis.
Must be able to work in non-air conditioned environment.
