Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares patients for tests. Records action of the heart muscle for use in diagnosis of heart ailments and straps electrodes to specified areas of the patient’s body.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Proficient in operation of Echo Ultrasound machine, including pictures and measurements.
2. Proficient knowledge of the anatomy and function of the heart.
3. Proficient in both Echo and Stress Echo testing procedures and protocols.
4. Able to recognize both normal and abnormal functions of the heart on echo ultrasound machine.
5. Knowledgeable of EKG rhythms.
6. Able to perform treadmill tests, including patient hook up.
7. Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
8. Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
9. Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
10. Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certification/License :
Must be a Registered Echo Technician or have on-the-job training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Must have excellent sonographic skills. Knowledge of vascular is a plus.
