The Mead & Hunt Transportation group’s Traffic Engineering and ITS business unit, who focuses on traffic engineering, transportation systems, and multimodal traffic operations, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Traffic Engineer. Responsibilities include:

• Plan and design Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
• Conduct traffic analysis and design including traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, temporary traffic control, and lighting using MicroStation & Synchro
• Oversee and/or manage projects from small traffic engineering task orders to large-scale multi-modal traffic/ITS projects
• Serve as a client liaison for on-going projects
• Identify potential new markets and service lines
• Track upcoming pursuits and meet with clients to gather intelligence
• Coordinate proposal efforts and assist in technical input to proposals
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and presentations
• Attend client meetings
• Prepare letters of interest and technical proposals
• Attend technical interviews
• Collaborate with other Mead & Hunt offices in the Southeast, Midwest, Rocky Mountains, and Mid-Atlantic regions
• Travel and overnight stays will be required as needed

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant discipline from an accredited four-year college or university
• At least ten years of relevant work experience; and
• PE license in Maryland or South Carolina

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• Thorough Knowledge of MDOT and SCDOT and local agency standards, guidelines, and practices
• PTOE certification
• Proven record of winning contracts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
