The Hand Center at Medical Plaza Miller is seeking a full time occupational therapist to join our dynamic and growing team. CHT strongly preferred but not required. Qualified applicants will have a strong focus on patient centered care and evidence based practice, as well as exceptional team interaction, time management and communication skills.
Responsible for assessment, diagnostic, and /or treatment services to any person when so ordered by a physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Treatment is provided through the employment of physical means such as therapeutic exercise, heat, water, electricity, massage, ultrasound, and the use of rehabilitative procedures and devices.

YOU'LL NEED - Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure.
- CPR Certification every two years.
- Valid NC driver's license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
- Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
- Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
- Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
- Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
- Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
- Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: - Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
- Contact with patients, family members, visitors, coworkers and medical staff under a wide variety of circumstances
- Ability to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations
- Ability to work effectively with the team notice
