Job description

The University of Dubuque is a growing University that is seeking an Adjunct Painting Instructor. The successful candidate will inspire and guide students in developing their artistic skills and creative expression through the medium of acrylic painting in an undergraduate course. This position is part-time, with teaching assignments scheduled according to the academic calendar. The Adjunct Instructor of Painting will report to the Digital Art and Design Department Chair and collaborate with other faculty members to ensure the success of the program.



Responsibilities:

Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that cover fundamental techniques, composition, color theory, and expressive approaches in acrylic painting.

Provide demonstrations, critiques, and one-on-one instruction to foster creativity, critical thinking, and students' artistic growth and development.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio space, ensuring that all materials and equipment are properly maintained and used responsibly.

Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D degree in the relevant discipline

Five or more years' experience working in the field preferred

University teaching experience preferred
