Humble ISD - Carpenter

Reports to: General Crafts Supervisor School/Department: Maintenance Department.

Pay Grade: Manual Trades/Hourly.

Wage/hour status: MT6 Non-Exempt/Hourly.

Created/revised: October 2023.

Primary Purpose:

Under general supervision: maintain, repair, and install in all trade areas including but not limited to carpentry, laminate, painting, plumbing, electrical, roofing, masonry, and flooring. Work within designated time frames to accomplish assigned duties to ensure District buildings are in a condition of operating excellence.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
• May be required to successfully complete job ability testing.
• State of Texas Maintenance Electrician License or Apprentice Electrician License preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge using computers or iPads.
• Knowledge to perform in all trade areas.
• Ability to write legible.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Skills using power tools.

Experience:

• Prefer 3 to 5 years of experience in carpentry, laminate, cabinet making, and general maintenance repairs or new construction.
