Job description
Does working in a busy, fast paced environment appeal to you? The Dolins Group is a high energy, rapidly expanding CPA firm based in Northbrook.
We’re searching for a numbers-oriented individual to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The accounts receivable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued clients.
The selected individual will support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts, communicating discrepancies, identifying slow-paying clients, and recommend collection candidates and assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement.
Responsibilities: - Maintain precise records of all incoming payments.
- Contact clients as needed to ensure payment of outstanding invoices.
- Improve collection performance goals & reduce bad debt.
- Work collaboratively with accounts payable and other accounting staff to ensure accuracy in finances.
- Actively investigate and resolve irregularities in both incoming and outgoing payments.
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
- Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
- Support other accounting and finance team members.
- Perform cash posting and cash applications timely and accurately.
- Identify opportunities to streamline A/R functions in line with the future strategy of the business.
Required skills and qualifications - Strong mathematical skills.
- Understanding of basic principles of bookkeeping.
- Superb time management and detail orientation.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Experience in accounts receivable.
- Experience in driving process improvement.
- Ability to work well with all levels of the organization in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Maturity, professionalism, and a high level of discretion are required.
