About the Facility - Long Beach VAMC The VA Long Beach Healthcare System is one of the most diversified health care systems in the VA. Facility Address: 5901 E 7 th St, Long Beach, CA 90822 ICU RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) - Providing professional nursing care principles, practices and procedures required to assess needs of patients.
- Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, their desired effects, and complications of their use; recognizing adverse signed and symptoms which are not always apparent and to reach promptly in emergency situations including the implementation of life-saving procedures.
- Provide counseling, guidance, and health instruction to patients; and-
- Identify disease entities in order to recognize complications and therapeutic interventions required.
- Provide professional nursing duties according to established professional nursing principles, practices, and procedures in a Med/Surg or PACU setting, assessing patient's physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs.
- Demonstrate skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient; provide pre-operative nursing care to patients.
(ICU/PCU/SICU) Qualifications - Must have a bachelor's degree for nursing from an accredited program approved by either the Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
- Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rice, or a Territory of the United States.
- Must have a minimum of two years' experience within the last three years.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification as approved by the American Heart Association.
