Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive child development services to children and families enrolled in our Early Head Start program. Your responsibilities will include conducting child development screenings and assessments, developing individualized school readiness plans for children, and providing a range of family support and advocacy services. Through weekly home visits and socialization groups, you will build positive relationships with families, empowering them to thrive. Your commitment to inclusivity and cultural responsiveness will ensure that every child and family receives the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

Home Visiting: Develop and implement a regular schedule of home visits and activities to meet program standards. Interact positively with children and families, fostering a nurturing environment for learning and development.

Developmental Screening and Assessment: Conduct screenings and assessments, coordinating with health professionals as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of observations and assessments.

Individualized School Readiness Plans (ISRP): Develop ISRP for each child based on assessments, screenings, and family input. Collaborate with families to promote a positive learning environment.

Family Support and Parent Involvement: Identify family strengths and needs, developing written Family Partnership Goals and providing referrals and support as needed.

Community Resource and Referral: Maintain awareness of community resources, providing support to help families access services.

Transition Services: Coordinate services for families transitioning out of Early Head Start, ensuring a smooth transition.

Interdisciplinary Planning: Participate in interdisciplinary planning for children and families.

Requirements:

Minimum one year experience in home visiting or Early Learning Program.
Access to a personal vehicle with insurance coverage and a valid driver's license.
CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification required.
Ability to adapt to new technology and proficient in MS Office.
Ability to establish positive relationships and communicate effectively within a diverse environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Home Visitor CDA credential or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education.
Bilingual proficiency in English and one of the following languages: [List preferred languages].
Current Parents as Teachers certification is a plus.
Salary Range and Benefits:

Starting salary range: $22.54 - $24.57 DOE.
Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, vacation leave, sick leave, and paid holidays.
