The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing inventory levels and costing of the labels category for 6-10 facilities across North America. The label category is primarily IML (in mold label) and HT (heat transfer) specific to our key customer graphics and dielines of the injected molded container or lid. This position will interact daily with internal and external customers and will complete the purchasing process from req to receipt at its final destination.
Job overview and key duties
- Responsible for purchasing activities from requisition to receipt in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist Procurement Director, ensure that site procurement activities take place in-line with the expectations and pricing set within vendor agreements.
- Working with Planning and Inventory team members to ensure consistency of our supply chain.
- Move materials, goods, and products (including importing and exporting) to ensure that they are in the right place to meet production demand.
- Show a deep understanding of the business and vendor seasonality along with production capacity constraints which drives our lead time; seek to continuously improve this process.
- Working with the wider Supply Chain team drives continuous improvement across supply chain, planning and logistics related activities and maintain all variables within the ERP system to optimize efficiency.
- Evaluate order and stocking measure to ensure alignment with budget.
- Ensure ERP systems in place are accurate and maintained.
- Maintain strong communication between internal and external teams to facilitate exchange of information, updates, disruptions through order expedite.

Additional Skills and qualifications
- Related bachelor's degree in a related field preferred and/or prior Procurement experience – able to understand operational processes, customer requirements and technical attributes of the product range.
- Capability of multi-tasking, prioritize demand while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communication skills to collaborate and work across multiple functional areas.
- ERP implementation experience (IFS advantageous but not essential).
- Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
- Ability to travel as needed.
