General Summary
The Senior Manager, Modern Device Platforms role is an experienced professional who will oversee services (staff/service partners and delivery operations) under the Digital Workplace service domain within the IT organization. The role will require strong emphasis on driving a superior customer experience with everything we do. Also, this role is tasked with driving maturity along our journey along modern device management toward an AAD Intune-managed environment. The services in scope span the entire Campbell’s enterprise (all geographies, all sites, all end users) and include the following:
- Hardware & Software Standards – establishment, publication and ongoing curation of defined end user hardware device standards (eg. PCs, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mouse, docking stations, digital headsets, etc.) as well as end user software application standards. Includes mechanism for review of non-standard end user hardware and software requests.
- Image Management – platform management of Windows-OS-based end user workstations which includes – but is not limited to – establishing base image(s), image standards and testing, patching, etc.
- Application Packaging – process to combine application installation steps, specific settings, and more into a discrete package to streamline and automate the provisioning of software to end user devices.
- Software Distribution – ability to provision (push/pull) end user software applications to end points, leveraging software provisioning tool(s) (e.g. SCCM) and/or app store (e.g. Software Center) means.
- Patch / Vulnerability Management – process of applying firmware and/or software updates to end user devices in order to improve functionality, close security vulnerabilities, and optimize performance.
- Mobility Device Management – management of all mobile devices (eg. phones, tablets, etc.), whether company-provisioned or BYOD, which includes – but is not limited to – establishing corporate standards, procurement, disposal, asset tracking, refresh, policy compliance, etc.
- Telecom Expense Management (TEMS) – the management of costs, billing, inventory, savings opportunitie, et al related to mobility devices provisioned to the enterprise. TEMS oversight for non-mobile devices is performed separately by the Digital Workplace Telephony team.
- Digital Experience Management – oversight of DEM strategy and technology for end point management and self-healing that proactively detects and can even remediate issues across a spectrum of IT, including hardware, network, OS, applications and more.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop proposed strategic direction for Modern Device Platforms service space including base assessment of discrete service maturity, strategic roadmap with 3-year plan, gap analysis, et al. (~15% time allocation)
- Manage the day-to-day operations of services under Modern Device Platforms and supervise the team to ensure achievement of departmental objectives and optimal service levels. (~25% time allocation)
- Engage with key stakeholder teams including IT leadership, service partners, vendors, customer groups, industry leaders, etc. as necessary to understand business requirements, trends, changes, gain agreement, work through issues, and report on progress. (~20% time allocation)
- Address escalations and issues in a quality and timely manner that arise across the Modern Device Platforms service space including instances with service partners, vendors, and user base. (~15% time allocation)
- Manage financials associated with Modern Device Platforms services including budget, actuals (with focus on fiscal responsibility to Campbell’s and achievement of financial objectives), and forecasting as part of AOP process. (~10% time allocation)
- Maintain subject matter expertise in service responsibility space including industry and technology trends in order to refine and drive ongoing strategy in Modern Device Platforms at Campbell’s. (~10% time allocation)
- Other/Additional duties as assigned/required. (~5% time allocation)
Job Complexity / Scope
- This role and its organization will be responsible for all IT end user devices across the entire Campbell’s corporation (~7K+ users) including employees, interns, contractors, all geographies (US, Canada, LATAM) and sites (Corporate, Plant, Warehouse, etc), excluding Plant-specific devices.
- This role will be responsible for managing a staff of one internal Campbell’s employee as well as several outsourced delivery teams and vended partners including – but not limited to – HCL, Calero, Microsoft, Lenovo, et al.
- The organization under this role will have a critical role in all Campbell’s end user device care and feeding (eg. patching of equipment and software and assimilation into the Campbell’s network).
Job Specifications (Knowledge, skills and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job)
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Information Systems or IT related field.
- Additional Degree(s) and/or industry-recognized certifications in the IT field relevant to the position are a plus.
- Years of relevant experience:
- 10+ years experience in the Modern Device Platforms services arena or related field
- 5+ years experience as an IT Manager/Supervisor
- 5+ years leading cross-functional teams and enterprisewide programs
- Experience in designing strategic metrics and scorecards and monitoring/driving improvement.
- Experience in strategy, innovation and transformation.
- Experience as a catalyst of organizational change.
Compensation and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$105,000-$172,200
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
