THE POSITION

The Department of Community and Economic Development is currently seeking an individual to serve as a liaison between the Department and grantees in the areas of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily administration of federal community development and housing programs, as well as conducting remote monitoring to ensure compliance with FHEO requirements. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As part of this position, you will be responsible for conducting a minimum of 20 remote monitoring's per year for FHEO, with support from your supervisor when necessary. Additionally, you will be in charge of gathering and maintaining FHEO compliance reports from federal grantees, which will be used for semi-annual or annual reports to Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These reports will be included in various plans and evaluations. Furthermore, you will provide technical support to Community and Housing Development (CHD) members and grantees, which includes developing reports, presentations, correspondence, and reporting documentation. You will also conduct research and review HUD regulations to assist in the development of programmatic policies and procedures. Additionally, you will input information and data into the Integrated Disbursement and Information System when required. You will represent the CHD at partner meetings and coordinate training opportunities with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. Lastly, you will help develop and conduct trainings on relevant topics.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, options will be discussed with the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- You will be required to report to Harrisburg a minimum of one-day per month for team collaboration.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements: - You must be willing and able to work in and commute to Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
- You must have experience gathering, assembling, and analyzing data.
- You must have experience interpreting and applying complex guidelines.
- You must have experience with project and information management.
- You must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- You must be able to interact effectively with staff and the public.
- You must have experience providing technical assistance.
- You must have experience with database management systems.
- You must have experience operating a computer and utilizing software programs.
- You must have experience utilizing standard office equipment.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required): - Experience with federal community and housing development programs
- Experience with federal and state fair housing laws and regulations
- Experience with grant administration
- Experience performing analytical work in your current or past positions
