Job description
Position Summary
The Quality Control Associate for the Flooring division is responsible for ensuring flooring is designed and installed correctly and in alignment with customer and code expectations for future, current and ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Measure all relevant open areas to ensure correct based on flooring installation specifications, ensuring order accuracy.
- Ensure all materials indicated on the design pack are available and ready for installation.
- Communicate with the order team and other stakeholders on any missing materials and impacts to the timeline.
- Perform thorough quality walk with builder, post installation to include checking for code violations, using tools to ensure flooring are installed level and square and was installed correctly and check for current damages and potential indicators of future problems.
- Works closely with builder representatives to conduct quality walkthrough, aligning on punch list to ensure satisfaction.
- Compare the finished installation to the designer pack to ensure designer notes were completed.
- Communicate with the installation team regarding any follow-up or instructions on repairs that need to be made based on quality walk.
- Create and deliver repair forms to the showroom administrative associate for all repairs.
- Create reports and work orders to include pictures and videos and send them to the Service Management team.
- Field all homeowner warranty calls, post closing.
Required Qualifications and Skills .
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Prior knowledge and experience working with flooring installation, construction or design, preferred.
- Extensive and specialized knowledge of multiple types of flooring installation to include, tile, wood, carpet, etc.
- Proficient with basic hand tools and must be able to read a tape measure and level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet MVR requirements.
Additional Requirements
- Will experience prolonged periods of standing, walking through construction settings. sitting in a vehicle and working on a phone and computer.
- 100% of travel within Heritage’s area of business
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet MVR requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate residential and or commercial job site
- Will be required to work in a variety of environmental conditions to include inside, outside, hot or cold temperatures.
- Schedule: 8 hour days aligned with active projects schedules. Will generally work 7:30am-4:30pm, but may vary depending on business needs.
