Welcome to Presidio of Monterey, home of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center. Located in picturesque Monterey County on California's Central Coast, approximately 85 miles south of San Francisco and 50 miles from the Silicon Valley. With historic ties to the Spanish colonial era, the Presidio of Monterey as U.S. military installation dates to July 7, 1846 when Commodore Sloat landed his troops unopposed in Monterey during the Mexican-American War and first raised the U.S. flag in Alta California, claiming its territories for the United States. Monterey is the last Presidio in California to have an active military installation.
About the Position:
This is a great opportunity for board certified Psychiatrist to serve our Service members of all military branches attending initial and advanced schools at the Defense Language Institute and Foreign Language Center and the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

Duties
The primary responsibility of this position to provide psychiatric service to the behavioral health clinic, substance use disorder clinic and primary care clinic (as needed). This is full time position working Monday through Friday from 0700-1600. This position does not have evening or weekend call.
Performs other duties as assigned.
US Citizenship required
Must possess and maintain board certification in Psychiatry
Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).
