What you'll do
As the remote-based Client Development Manager for our Utilimaster® brand, you will enjoy being the primary customer-facing member for Utilimaster's leasing customer account segments.
Your main focus will involve building and maintaining executive-level relationships and strengthening account partnerships with leasing customers through promoting Utilimaster's/The Shyft Group's value proposition with a consultative sales approach. Your success will be measured based on retention and profitable growth within the assigned customer accounts.
Additionally, you will be expected to grow sales by developing relationships learn about customers' applications, anticipate customer needs, recommend product options, and best practices, and provide prompt responses and resolution to customer complaints.
What you'll be doing
- Overseeing your assigned accounts and performing analysis and research of historical trends, market trends, market capacity, purchasing trends, and competitive environment to drive strategy development for customers
- Developing and executing Strategic Account Plans and strategies to continually increase top line revenue, maximize margins, and increase market share
- Examining metrics and tools to identify new opportunities for target customer acquisition and existing customer retention
- Creating a competitive advantage by linking customer goals through consultative sales approach to product solutions that deliver a total value offering
- Actively participate in key industry associations and events
- Understanding the value proposition and concentrating on value-added selling
- Partnering with customers and internally to identify and develop effective client management strategies
- Developing an in-depth understanding of each client and customer applications
- Clearly defining customer fleet and business goals and managing the quote process
- Ensuring that your sales approach aligns with customer business goals
- Partnering cross-functionally with engineering, operations, procurement, and other teams to provide best-in-class consulting and service to our customers, and ensuring satisfactory resolution of issues
- Coordinating build and delivery dates with sales and engineering
- Developing and maintaining deep working knowledge of our client's systems and processes
- Interfacing internally and externally to proactively resolve and prevent client issues
- Identifying trends that may negatively impact customer satisfaction
- Preparing projections for your accounts and utilizing them to manage relationships and achieve goals
- Researching industry publications and attending trade shows to identify trends and new products

What you need to be successful - A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline and 4+ years of sales experience working with strategic or national accounts, OR a HS Diploma or GED and 8+ years of expertise in lieu of a degree
- Growth minded with a hunter mentality
- Ability to maximize results by systemically managing an account plan
- Versed in maximizing sales results through new business opportunities within existing account
- A track record of adapting your sales approach to different buying influences
- Experienced with identifying client needs and gaining commitment
- Expertise in creating persuasive presentations and closing through logical, incremental steps
- A reputation for setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple tasks
- Skilled at maintaining a calm disposition in pressured situations
- A solutions-driven mindset with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Experience with developing effective sales strategies and anticipating clients' needs to close sales
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25%
