We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer in our Richmond, VA office to own the brand story for the LifeSpire of Virginia family of communities. GENERAL OVERVIEW:
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at LifeSpire of Virginia, you will lead our organization's financial strategy and operations, ensuring the fiscal health and sustainability of our communities. Collaborating closely with Executive Directors, Associate E.D.'s, our Foundation, and other team members, you will provide executive leadership and support to drive financial excellence across all levels of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Uphold the Mission, Values, and Vision of LifeSpire of Virginia.
- Lead and uphold the One LifeSpire pledge.
- Communicate the organization's financial performance.
- Support LifeSpire of Virginia's strategic plan.
- Manage relationships for annual audit work.
- Develop future organizational leadership.
- Oversee budgeting, setting targets, and correcting variances.
- Handle internal and external financial reporting.
- Ensure completion and filing of annual disclosure reports.
- Track and monitor bond compliance.
- Act as the representative for health insurance captive.
- Manage Finance and investment committees.
- Serve on Executive, Finance, and Strategic Planning Board committees.
- Provide financial modeling for strategic projects.
- Oversee treasury management and savings accounts.
- Provide training to financial services personnel and managers.
- Supervise Information Technology Department.
- Ensure IT systems compliance with laws.
- Promote LifeSpire of Virginia in industry organizations.
- Act as registered agent for LifeSpire and communities.
- Prepare and file annual cost reports and tax returns.
- Oversee future services obligation reporting.
- Coordinate tax deductibility and housing calculations.
- Manage Medicare ownership reporting.
- Perform other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Master’s in accounting or MBA and CPA preferred.
- Superior communicator
- 10+ years Healthcare accounting/finance experience with knowledge of major reimbursement programs and cost reporting
- 10+ years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in a service based not-for-profit organization.
- Proven experience within a CCRC environment
- Proven leadership ability managing a diverse employee work group.
- Ability to delegate and operate strategically.
- Experience with debt transactions and a fast-paced organization preferred.
